As you enter the Beverly Hilton you are greeted by adulation of adoring fans and flashbulbs in the form of murals and wall art. You are quickly reminded this is the site of historic Hollywood events and many stars of the silver screens have enjoyed many, many fun gatherings and glittering nights in this very place.
I was headed to the Stardust Penthouse and I knew that there was a fun party waiting… The 2014 ECOLUXE LOUNGE.
A premiere “socially conscious luxury event” the ECOLUXE LOUNGE celebrated the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Nominees & Presenters while raising awareness and funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters Los Angeles (bbbsla.org).
You exit the elevator and pass through the portal labeled “Stardust” and you see the party… The DJ is mixing beats, food is going around and “Welcome, here’s your gift bag,” right when you enter, you get the star treatment. I walked in and was immediately met by a star of Back to the Future – one of my favorite films of all time – Claudia Wells. Claudia played Jennifer Parker, Marty McFly’s girlfriend. She was friendly and passionate about clothes… We took a photo and exchanged social media information — hashtag instagrammed – and she told me about her business. Claudia has a designer clothing store in Studio City and a beautiful way of making you feel special. Her style was affable and approachable, throw in a free shirt and I started to plan a visit to her store for that new suit I’ve been needing…
The event had lots of brands and lots of interesting products to showcase. Leading sustainable TV/film product placement producer, Debbie Durkin, brought eco conscious brands, luxury vacations, and a wonderful assortment of people together for a lovely event. I saw a few reality TV stars while I enjoyed some food and drink.
The view of Beverly Hills from the Stardust patio looks out on billions in real estate. It’s a billion dollar view.
Wine tastings from Club W, farm to-table-fare from Circa 55, a MAN GLAM lounge, Luxury travel vacations from Caribbean Living Magazine, the best in fall fashion and beauty, a celebrity pet lounge and music from DJ Dime, all in a spectacular space designed by White Lotus Productions.
An enjoyable evening indeed.
