April 5th marked the 2nd Annual Chris4Life LA Dream Date Celebrity Auction which was held at Beverly Hills’ SLS Hotel. A benefit for DC-based Punch Partner Chris4Life, the event hosted nearly 250 guests, media and supporters of the charity as well as fans of ABC’s The Bachelor franchise, raising close to $60,000 to help patients who are battling colon cancer.
Funds raised go directly to Chris4Life’s Patient, Treatment and Care programs helping individuals that reside in the Los Angeles area. A portion of the funds will also help with colon cancer research with partner UCLA Medical Center.
Guests bid on actors, screenwriters, television personalities, and cast members from The Bachelor series, as well as a plethora of silent auction items. W.E.A.R. Project bracelets were also for sale at a discount, with $10 going directly to Chris4Life. Pre-bidding, guests were treated to a special performance by Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist Orianthi (who also went up for auction later).
Co-chairs for the event were oncologist Dr. Paul Song, his wife Lisa Ling (the host of the Oprah Winfrey Network show Our America) and recent DC-LA transplant Robert Egger, founder of DC Central Kitchen and L.A. Kitchen.
In addition to The Bachelor’s Michelle Money (who lost her father to colon cancer and has been a strong supporter/advocated for Chris4Life ever since), event emcees for this year’s event were Julia Allison (Columnist for ELLE.com, star of BRAVO’s Miss Advised) and Shira Lazar (Host and Executive Producer of weekly live show What’s Trending).
