As if the Valley needs to get any hotter this summer….Celebrity chef Michael Voltaggio – and four other chefs – will be showing off their talent at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center in Studio City on Saturday, September 7th for the first ever “Universal Discoveries” event.
The day will feature a demo by Voltaggio (and book signing), as well chefs from Universal’s top manufacturers preparing delectable delights (including vegan as well as gluten and soy-free options) on the showroom’s designs. Also being sampled will be an organic super-food antioxidant-rich fruit drink in addition to wine and spirits to please the palate.
Chef Michael Voltaggio has been cooking since the age of 15, and although he did not attend a formal culinary school, he earned a highly-coveted position in the prestigious Greenbrier Culinary Apprenticeship program. With his unconventional techniques, classical repertoire, and adventurous style, Voltaggio has earned great success and recognition. He was most recently honored as one of Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Chefs,” and ink. – his Los Angeles flagship restaurant – was named “Best New Restaurant in America” by GQ. But Voltaggio might be best remembered as the winner of Top Chef (season 6) on Bravo’s Emmy award-winning television show.
Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center, a luxury appliance and plumbing company with two locations in the San Fernando Valley, will host Saturday’s event, which includes demos and giveaways, while highlighting some of their top brands and innovative designs. Universal will have factory representatives on hand introducing new products, hundreds of appliances and accessories, and what they call “unbeatable prices,” all at their 10,500 square-foot showroom in Studio City.

Guests will also experience the culinary creations of chefs* from Viking, Thermador and Jenn-Air, as well as reps from Miele providing dessert and coffee. There will be an hourly raffle, door prizes, and sale prices on appliances and plumbing fixtures with no-interest financing for 12 months.
