Unless you live in Pasadena, you don’t often make the effort to fight the traffic and head east. But, there are two reasons this month and next to give it a whirl.
The inaugural Cal Phil Festival on the Green continues in the spacious Santa Anita Park Infield this Saturday, August 11. The theme is “Carmen on Broadway” and the California Philharmonic will be performing famous Broadway hits from such musicals as Carmen, West Side Story, Beauty & the Beast, and more. Cal Phil will be accompanied by Sandra Rubalcava, Christopher Bengochea, and Cedric Berry & the Cal Phil Chorale.

Also mark your September calendars — The Pasadena Greekfest returns to Santa Anita, September 14-16. Opa! Join the party for live Greek music, authentic food and pasteries, award-winning Greek Folk Dancing, wine tasting, historical and cultural exhibitions, kids games, and carnival rides. We’ll drink some ouzo to that.
