Punch Pick for DineL.A.: The Royce Steakhouse at Langham Hotel, Pasadena

On your marks. Get set. Dig in for dineLA! There’s no better motivation to try a new restaurant than during dineL.A.’s Restaurant Week from January 19 – February 1. The best thing about dineL.A.? It’s easy on the wallet (i.e. go to those fancy restaurants now!) because participating restaurants offer specially priced prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus. Case in point: The Royce-Wood Fire Steakhouse in Pasadena. Average entrees are around $40; the entire three-course dinner during dineL.A. is 50 buckaroos.

I’ve always wanted to check out the restaurant inside the Langham Hotel, but, living in the Valley, I don’t make it out to the City of Roses very often.

Compliments of the talented (and adorable) Chef Perry Pollaci, I sampled the dineL.A. menu sitting at the restaurant’s chef table with a group of other food writers. How lucky were we? And what a ridiculously, divine feast it was! Plus, the chef threw out some surprises along the way: steak topped with foie gras (illegal in California until earlier this month) and a dessert platter almost as the length of a football field!

The Langham is also offering dineL.A. lunch at Terrace, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant.

If you’ve never been to the Langham Hotel, here’s your chance to experience this historic beauty paired with a finely-crafted meal. And just because it’s less expensive, doesn’t mean they are serving mac n’ cheese and burgers. Nope, it’s gourmand all the way, such as jidori chicken, steak tartare and apple tart topped with whiskey ice cream! So you can plan your visit, here’s the DineL.A. menu at The Royce in Pasadena:

If you still need convincing, here’s a bit of #foodporn to entice:

Steak Tartare

Marinated Skirt Steak

Foie Gras Steak (not on the DineL.A. menu but an indulgent option!)

Dessert Platter O’ Plenty (not on the dineL.A. menu, but it gives you an idea of the sweets in store)
