Review: The Luxury Technology Show

Luxury and technology go together like fast cars and open roads, together you can’t help but enjoy yourself.

“From the US premiere of Panasonic’s 4K TVs to the sleek BMW i8, there was something exciting for every tech lover and luxury aficionado,” said Bradford Rand, Rand Luxury CEO at the recent event.

He was right. Especially if cars are your preferred luxury technology… As I entered the historic Petersen Automotive Museum (www.petersen.org) I was immediately greeted by luxury technology – a stunning, polished to perfection old red Rolls Royce. Stylish and beautiful this piece of technology, cutting edge in its day was the perfect tone-setter for the Luxury Technology showcase.

What caught my attention next was the rendering of the new Petersen Museum, which looks absolutely stunning. The museum itself is the process of turning into a piece of luxury technology. The perfect venue for a luxury tech show. As I walked to the escalator to go up to the showroom floor I saw the Lichtenstein inspired “What will they think of next?” art on the wall. I was excited to find out what, indeed, they had already thought of for us to see…

Entering the main floor I was greeted by a cheerful check in, the smell of food, and the laughing and conversations over cars and designer toys of the best kind. Everyone was having fun and I entered a world of gold-plated iPhones, 3-D printers, pesticide testing kits, iWallets, flying drones, massage-chairs, brainwave-reading headgear, pens that synch with your computer, toys that teach you how to code — just to name a few – and of course cars. Lots of beautiful, luxurious, highly technical cars.

“We could not have asked for a better turnout and venue for this year’s show. Peterson Automotive Museum is the embodiment of what we stand for, bringing performance and luxury together for tastemaker attendees. We look forward to presenting more cutting-edge products for you in 2015.” — Bradford Rand, Rand Luxury CEO.

I’m excited to see what they think of next! I definitely recommend this event if you can get an invitation.
